Fluorite (also called fluor-spar) is a mineral composed of calcium fluoride. As well as ornamental uses Fluorite is used in the making of hydrofluoric acid and as a flux in the manufacture of steel. The name fluorite is derived from the Latin fluo meaning flow in reference to its use as a flux. Fluorite is a highly protective and stabilizing stone, useful for grounding and harmonizing spiritual energy.
