Tiger's eye (also called Tigers eye or Tiger eye) is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually a metamorphic rock that is a golden to red-brown colour with a silky luster. The undulating contrasting bands of colour and luster make it a popular member of the quartz group. Its colors are generally a combination of golden browns, yellow, beige or tan.
This mineral was first reported in 1892 by J.D. Dana and was clearly named after its similarities to a real tiger’s eye.
Tiger's eye is a stone of protection, especially for travelers, Tiger Eye brings good luck and prosperity to the user. Ancients used Tiger Eye as a talisman against bad luck and curses. Tiger Eye attracts abundance and can also stimulate the rise of Kundalini energies.
