Epidote is one of the most outstanding display materials. The finest and most desirable form of this mineral is in the delicate elongated crystal that is extremely lustrous and often interconnected. This form is highly treasured by collectors and creates one of the finest mineral showpieces. The colour of Epidote is almost invariably green, in all the different shades and tones, with a pistachio colour habit being very typical.
Epidote is an aluminium-iron mineral that can be found in either crystal or stone form. The stone was first described in 1801 by R.J. Hauy and was named after the Greek word meaning to “increase”. They are commonly found in Norway, the U.S.A, and Brazil, which has been known to have the nicest crystallized forms of Epidote ever seen.
Please Note: Natural gemstone or semi-precious stone comes from minerals. Due to their naturality, the stones may have tiny flaws. Meanwhile, cutting or polishing also makes every piece of gemstone vary in colour and size. The image may look different (colour) due to many monitor or device resolutions.
