Clary Sage Essential Oil 10ml

Origin: First used in the Middle Ages when this herb was considered to be petty much a cure-all. Medieval authors called the herb Clear Eye and attributed it to the property of healing all kinds of eye disorders. It was used for digestive disorders, kidney disease, uterine and menstrual complaints.

The mucilage from the seeds was used for treating tumours and for removing dust particles from the eyes. The herb is a stout perennial which grows up to a metre high with large hairy leaves, it produces small blue flowers. The oil is extracted from these leaves and flowers by steam distillation. The oil is usually a pale yellow-green liquid with a distinctive sweet, nutty scent.

Clary Sage is a naturally relaxing essential oil, it induces feelings of calmness and is reputed to reduce the stress hormone cortisol, providing balance and lifting the mood.  The oil is useful in dilution in treating many skin complaints such as acne, inflamed conditions, boils, oily skin and dandruff.  May also be useful as a massage oil in combatting high blood pressure and muscular aches and pains. Clary Sage Oil is also known to regulate and stabilize menstrual cycles and related symptoms.

How to Use Product:

Dilute in a carrier oil of your choice - maximum 10%.

Apply to the appropriate area of the skin as directed.

Add a few drops of water and use in a burner.

Add a few drops to bath water.
