Apophyllite and Stilbite from Nasik, India. It has an interesting multi-textured appearance. This mineral grouping has a large Peach colored Stilbite rosette and super cool clear Apophyllite cubical Crystals. The Stilbite has some dings in it but is a nice specimen overall.
Stilbite is another Silicate mineral from the Zeolite family. It is often characterized by its sheaf like aggregates. The color is usually white and when the cleavage is perfect, will have a distinct pearly luster.
Apophyllite, also a Zeolite, is Silicate mineral with very well defined clear Crystals and is very popular as a collector's mineral. The Crystal structure will refract like in obvious rainbows and can form "natural pyramids" when tumbled.
The common color of Apophyllite is clear or white, although it can also be found as grey, yellow, red, and green. Green Apophyllite is the rarest color of them all and was found a few decades ago by an Indian farmer in Poona, India.
Since then, Green Apophyllite can also be found in Brazil and Quebec, Canada. Notable localities for the common white or translucent forms of Apophyllite include India, Australia, Russia, Germany, Greenland, Italy, and the USA.
