Selenite is a hydrous calcium sulphate. Selenite is soft and can easily be scratched with a fingernail. In some very rare instances water becomes encased in a cavity as the crystal forms. Because of the way Selenite crystals form Selenite exhibits fibre optic qualities.

Selenite is also known as a crystal that is quite useful in lending energy to the body, helping to make your massages more rejuvenating.
Selenite is a form of crystallized gypsum, tabular and needle-like crystals that are colourless to white.

Selenite, satin spar, desert rose, and gypsum flower are four varieties of the mineral gypsum all four varieties show obvious crystalline structure. The four "crystalline" varieties of gypsum are sometimes grouped together and called selenite.

Selenite is extremely abundant and can be found in nearly every country in the world. Some of the most abundant deposits on record are sourced from Morocco, Australia, Madagascar, Mexico, Brazil, and the United States.

This mineral provides for clarity of the mind, expanding awareness of the self and ones surroundings. It can be used to access past as well as future lives - the future as in which ones are probable from this point. This access is provided by rubbing the crystalline structure with a finger (not a nail); during this activation process, when a meditative state is attained, the visual images will begin.
