Labradorite is an iridescent Feldspar. This mineral was first discovered on the Isle of Paul near the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. Valued for its lustrous metallic reflections that are said to resemble a butterfly's wing this play of colour or shiller is aptly know as labradorescence.
Labradorite is renowned for its mirage of colours and display of Labradorescence. Its flash of colours can contain blue, green, yellow, orange, red, and even purple.
Unlike most stones, the colour displayed from Labradorite does not come from light reflected from the surface of this mineral. Instead, the spectrum of colours that you are seeing is caused by light reflecting off of a twinning surface within the stone.
Labradorite is very protective against negative energies, balancing and protecting the aura and sealing the aura from energy leaks.
This mineral can be found in the United States, Canada, Madagascar, Russia, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
Please Note: Natural gemstone or semi-precious stone comes from minerals. Due to their naturality, the stones may have a tiny flaw. Meanwhile, cutting or polishing also makes every piece of gemstone vary in colour and size. The image may look different (colour) due to many monitor or device resolutions.
