Calceola Sandalina fossil is also known as the "Shoe Coral," an exquisite fossilized horn coral found in Morocco. This ancient marine animal thrived during the Devonian period, forming its unique shoe-like shape which makes it a fascinating piece for collectors.

Calceola sandalina is a type of horn coral, sometimes called slipper coral. Horn corals are an extinct order of corals called Rugosa. Rough means wrinkled. The fossil is the skeleton of the coral animal or polyp. When alive, horn corals had a flower-like appearance. They belong to the phylum called cnidaria and are related to jellyfish.
